Our Team Roles

Assistant Chef

Prepares high quality food in a customer-driven environment. Responsible for ensuring proper preparation of food products, quality and adherence to recipes, implementing effective service techniques, and continuously expanding culinary knowledge and skills.

Cook

Support operations by preparing high-quality food from scratch, ensuring authentic flavours and appealing presentation that exceed customer expectations. 

Culinary Lead

In addition to Culinary Support duties, the Lead oversees the unit's operation in the absence of managers and supervisors.

Culinary Support

Prepare and serve food, handle payments, maintain clean work areas, and collect and wash dishes.

Supervisor

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Supervisor provides direction and supervision of assigned staff, supporting the team in frontline activities. They also ensure compliance of hospitality policies and food safety practices in the unit. Duties include scheduling workload assignments and breaks, approving time records, handling office paperwork, and managing daily sales reporting and cash balancing.

Understanding Contract Terms

Part-Time
Positions

Positions for less than 24 hours per week during September to April, with the possibility of working over the summer. Contracts automatically renew for the following September without the need for a re-interview process.

Sessional
Positions

Sometimes referred to as seasonal. Scheduled an average of over 24 hours per week, for a minimum of 90 days, usually between September and April. A lay-off date is stipulated. Employment Insurance benefits are applicable during the layoff months of May to August. Contracts automatically renew for the following September.

Continuing
Positions

Full-time, scheduled an average of more than 24 hours per week, for four consecutive months or more. No lay off date is stipulated.
